Well there’s some interesting things going on at the moment…
The Institute for Knowledge Mobilization is having a rethink and a refresh. Did it need one? Maybe, maybe not.
First up is the:
Leaders Roundtable, 8-9 January 2015, Vancouver
From the webpage: The Knowledge Mobilization Leaders Roundtable seeks to assemble leaders who have significant practical operations and systems level experience to address issues of collective benefit. The Roundtable will provide a relaxed and collegial atmosphere to coordinate efforts, reduce duplication, and create a competitive climate that is a race to the top.
I’m honestly not sure if that paragraph tells you anything, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be fun fun fun (in a good way). It’s the first time this event has run and I’m looking forward to finding out whether bringing together people who self-identify as the nation’s KMb leaders will produce good stuff, or just good times.
Register and more info here.
Second up:
Sponsorship Prospectus for the 2015 Canadian Knowledge Mobilization Forum
It’s here – if you fancy being one of the cool dudes who sponsors the Canadian KMb Forum you can see the prospectuses (prospecti?!) here.
Your sponsorship is the opportunity for your organization to be recognized as a leader and champion of evidence-driven knowledge mobilization in Canada.
Options range from costing not very much to the prestigious Platinum package at $10,000CDN. This gets you:
- Four (4) complimentary registrations.
- Pre-eminent placement of your logo on conference materials.
- Your organization will be thanked from the podium and announced as a Platinum Sponsor of the conference.
- Complimentary exhibit space and preferred exhibit placement.
- Your organization may provide sufficient quantities of one educational item, approved by the Forum Planning Committee, to be inserted into the delegate packages.
Of course if you’d rather sponsor the UK KMb Forum 2015 on 13-14 April in Edinburgh, get in touch with me 🙂
Third up:
The Canadian Knowledge Mobilization Forum 2015 (14-15 May 2015, Montreal)
This year’s theme: Creativity as Practice: Mobilizing Diverse Ways of Thinking
from the website: The Canadian Knowledge Mobilization Forum was created in 2012 as a professional development forum for practitioners and professionals working in knowledge mobilization across fields and sectors. It has become recognized as a premiere learning and networking event in Canada – friendly, open, limited in size, and creative. Events have been held in Ottawa (2012), Mississauga (2013), Saskatoon (2014), and the 2015 Forum is to be hosted in Montreal.
Limited places means on 150 bums on seats, and a few of them have gone to Brits already – get in there if you want to make sure you get your place. Some of the people who didn’t make the trip to Saskatoon last year are going to be champing at the bit for Montreal.
Register here.
If you’d like to come to the UK Knowledge Mobilisation Forum (13-14 April 2015, Edinburgh) as well that’s great. Limited places at that one too. More info on last year’s event here. Registration to open soon for 2015. See the news as it arrives by following @ukkmbf and #ukkmbf15 on twitter.
Finally:
the Institute for Knowledge Mobilization might be getting a new web-look. Watch this space… or this one. (more relevant?!)
