There’s a particularly entertaining reference to ‘stupid measurement’ at c.10mins. I suspect she wouldn’t have done any better in the same ‘real world’ messy situation, but hopefully we’ll all learn something for the the future. It certainly helps to demonstrate that it would be much more helpful to have good collabroative partnerships between academics and researchers who understand theories and methods like measurement with practitioners who are collecting data and changing practice. Researchers retrospectively telling practitioners they did it all badly despite their best efforts isn’t quite so helpful.
